Anudder rainy day....

Well, it are rainin' here agin... and if ya knows me, ya knows how I hates wet grass. Buddies, I tells ya, it's been rainin' so much here dat da ground has been squishy!! How's a pup supposed to do her yard art if da canvas is squishy?!?

I's been purdy busy since Easter... we went to visit my Momma's folks and stopped to wander in some bluebonnets on da way home...

Dat's just a few of da gazillion photos Momma took...  I'd show ya more, but I wanted to show ya some of da flowers we gots bloomin' in our yard. See, my Momma is a nutso 'bout bearded iris... every year she orders more from Schreiner's in Oregon. She evfun has a bunch dat she has in pots dat need to go in da ground if it evfur stops rainin' long enuff fur her to do dat...

Did I tell y'all I luvs to sniff da flowers? I duz. When we wuz in dat bluebonnet field, I went right ovfur to dem and smelled em gud! I also likes da iris, cuz dey smell gud, too, 'specially da ones dat smells like citrus... y'all know how I luvs, luvs, luvs citrus!! Some smell like root beer! Some is sweet, some like razzberries (da fruit kind, not da kind Crockett gives!)... so smell da iris ya comes across... ya might just be surprised!

Here's whut's bloomin' dis week in our garden...

We gots us another new a/c & furnace unit installed dis week. Da one on da east side of da house went out last summer. Da one on da west were all outta coolant and rusty inside.. since it were 19 years old and livin' on borrowed time, Momma opted to have a new one put in. So we spent dat day in da sunroom wiff Whitley barkin' her head off... made it hard fur me to evfun take a nap!  Bol, bol!

Momma's got lots more work to get done on da house dis year... so we may be spendin' lotsa time in da sunroom... and Whitley's gonna do lotsa barkin'....

Do ya think they makes earplugs fur pups??? hee hee.....

Bark ya later, gators!

  2. Your mom reminds us of a lady in our town who has 87 million irises and takes pictures of them and catalogs them. Your mom MUST be told that you should be in those pictures to bring out the true beauty!

  3. Those flowers are gorgeous. We have and Iris Farm near us. Yep, you go and look at all the thousands of irises and then you can buy what you want. But we've just been tipped into WINTER.

We always get banished to the bedroom when we have strangers in the house. So no barking.

We've been a bit quiet lately because Mum's having a bit of trouble with her eyes. She's ok and we have been reading as many blogs as we can but she has had to limit her computer time. She has just seen her eye Doc and is on the mend so we will be back real soon. Thanks for stoppin' by my blog to enquire after us Finley. It sure was nice of you and gave Mum a big lift to think that someone had missed us. We are all good so don't worry ..... we will be back real soon. I've been a bit worried about Jelly! Do you know how she's goin'? Jelly was friends with Harri and Lucy before me so Mum's known her for a long time. She's gone very quiet lately.

  22. Lee's grandmother always called them flags. They are beautiful and it is sad it is raining on them because they go all sticky together. We love the two toned iris but now they have ones that are like splashes of color. Are all those bluebells part of Lady Bird's wildflower program or where they just there and all over Texas on there on?

    1. They will go all sticky-- so Mom's been goin' out and snippin' off da wilted ones so dey don't go sticky on da buds next to 'em and ruin 'em... so far, we haven't lost but a few buds... but we sure could use a break from da rain so Momma can plant up a new flowerbed. The bluebonnets were here before Lady Bird-- Momma usta see 'em out in da pastures in da country-- but she helped to get 'em planted all along da highways... for which we will be furever grateful...

  25. All are irises are gone ~ we had a hail storm yesterday and it broke their stems. But today the sun is out and the weather is beautiful ~ I could take everyday of the year the same as today. So there was a silver lining in that storm.
I want to thank you again for being there for us.
