Happy Spring..... still itchin'....

Well puppers, Momma was feeling a little better today. She hurt her back trimmin' hedges and then weed whackin' everything the next day... so she's kinda grumpy. She says she is fine in the horizontal or vertical positions, it's just all the ones in between those that ouch! She got out in the backyard and did some stuff which I enjoyed cuz I gets to snoopervise while she works... I'm very good at snoopervising from the chaise lounge...BOL!!

I'm still here, one month after being on the holistic routine, still itchin' the same as always. For some reason, Momma don't like it when I scratch my neck till it bleeds or chew my leg bloody. She is frustermatated that I'm not any better at all... and that the only thing that seems to help me not itch so much is steroids... she doesn't want me on them all the time cuz they can mess a pup up. Plus, it is getting so warm down here that with all these clothes on I has to stay in the air conditioning all the time. She wishes I could run around all nekkid like a pup should.... The only time I gets to be nekkid is when I go fer a walk and then she has to keep me movin'- and then I comes home and gets a bath right away...

Whitley and her Momma came to see me last weekend... we had lotz of fun playing and doin' the Westie Party... but then she had to go back to Austin with her Momma.

I went back to the  holistic vet today... he told Momma to change up my notions and potions some... and added in a new one. Plus, Momma had him do a thyroid panel to rule out any thyroid problems... none of my vets has done one on me before. So I got stuck with a needle... but no big deal to me, I get stuck lots when I get my allergy therapy shots. Tomorrow Momma is going to go back and pick up a doggie antihistamine for me since the human ones don't seem to help me much.

Thought I'd show y'all some flowers from Momma's garden...

Bark ya later, gators!

  1. I hope your new vet helps with the itches ... those aren't fun esp. this time of year ... what are you feeding? Do you give a probiotic with meals? Could it be grass mites? Try a little Gold Bond Medicated Powder on a spot or two that itch and see if that helps.

Good luck and feel free to post anything that works on Facebook - group page - WESTIES HEALTH -- FROM EARS TO TAIL.

Someone also just listed a new shampoo that you might be interested in.

  2. We hope you can find something that'll stop the itchies. They're terrible. We're lucky that none of us has any itchies...so far.

  6. Let's see, right now I am on fish oil, DTX Alrgy, Total Yeast Redux, Oli-Vet, Proanthozone-- plus I get Missing Link in my dinner. I eat California Natural Grain Free foods, rotating the different kinds (they don't think I'm allergic to foods at all)-- plus very frequent baths with an organic aloe and oatmeal shampoo. And I'm still on allergy shot therapy.

We're curious what, if anything, the thyroid panel will show....
